187 States with which the US has diplomatic relations

SINGAPORE -- Of the 192 independent sovereign States in the world
today, the United States has diplomatic relations with all but 5.
US Relations
The United States has diplomatic relations with 187 nations in the
world -- all 192 independent states in the world except the following
five:
- Cuba
- Iran
- Iraq
- Korea, North
- United States (a state cannot have diplomatic relations with
itself)
East Timor
On May 20, 2002, East Timor became the 192nd independent state, as
recognized by the United States and most other states, and its
application for membership in the UN is pending.
United States
Of course a state cannot have diplomatic relations with itself, so
the U.S. has diplomatic relations with all but 4 other independent
sovereign states.
